Throughout the Troy City School System, we believe that our classroom teachers and instructional support staff provide the academic and social foundation upon which each of our students builds future success.

We are proud of all of those who work with our children on a daily basis. We commend them on their dedication and determination to make a positive difference in the lives of each of their students.

At the same time, we in the Troy City School System will always strive to enhance and improve our teacher quality. Step 1 in our strategic plan states that we will strive to:

Improve the quality of teacher recruitment, support and professional development. This step calls for systematic enhancements for attracting, employing, training, developing, advancing, and retaining quality teacher at every level with Troy City Schools. By 2013 Troy City Schools will be known as a magnet for teaching excellence with internal assessment by teachers rating the efforts in this step a minimum of 4.5 on a 5.0 scale for all objectives.

We recognize that these are lofty goals. However, if our students are to set high goals for themselves, we must also set high goals and standards for our teachers. Together our students and our teachers can obtain great success both in and out of the classroom.
